Rogers 3000 Series is a series of high-frequency laminate materials produced by Rogers Corporation. It is a PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) composite material containing special ceramic filled . It has first-class electrical and mechanical stability and is mainly used in commercial microwave and RF applications.
Rogers 3000 series includes multiple models, each model has slightly different dielectric constants, loss factors and application scenarios. Common P/N are:
RO3003:Dk 3.00 ± 0.04,Df0.0010(Tested in 10GHz situation),low loss factor, suitable for general high-frequency applications.
RO3006:Dk 6.15 ± 0.15,Df0.002(Tested in 10GHz situation),suitable for designs requiring higher dielectric constants.
RO3010:Dk 10.2 ± 0.3,Df0.0022(Tested in 10GHz situation),suitable for circuits with high dielectric constant requirements.
RO3035:Dk 3.50 ± 0.05,Df0.0015(Tested in 10GHz situation),with excellent high temperature resistance.
1.Excellent electrical properties:
1)Low dissipation factor (Df): typically between 0.001 and 0.002, suitable for high-frequency signal transmission.
2)Stable dielectric constant (Dk): Stable at different frequencies and temperatures, ensuring consistent circuit performance
3)Wide Dk Range: With a variety of different dielectric constant (Dk) values ranging from 3.0 to 10.2, it provides consistent mechanical properties, allowing designers to select laminates with the right Dk for different single layers and develop multiple multilayer board designs without worrying about warpage or reliability issues.
2.Thermal performance stability:High thermal conductivity, which helps dissipate heat and is suitable for high-power applications. With a wide operating temperature range (-55°C to +150°C) to adapt to harsh environments.
3.Mechanical stability:The coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE 24 ppm/°C) is close to the copper(17 ppm/°C), reducing stress during thermal cycles and improving reliability and Low Z-axis CTE to ensures plated through-hole reliability.
5G communications:
Used in millimeter wave antenna arrays and base station power amplifiers to meet the low loss requirements of high frequency bands (28 GHz/39 GHz).
Automotive electronics:
ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System): 77 GHz vehicle-mounted radar antenna board to improve the accuracy of blind spot detection and automatic emergency braking.
Aerospace and defense:
Airborne/satellite-borne radar and electronic warfare systems to adapt to extreme temperature and vibration environments.
Satellite communications:
Low-Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite high-frequency transceiver modules to ensure signal transmission efficiency.
Medical equipment:
High-precision microwave imaging systems (such as MRI auxiliary equipment)
Rogers 3000 series has become a benchmark pcb material for high-frequency circuit board design through its three core advantages of low loss, high stability, and easy processing. Whether it is the millimeter wave challenge of 5G communication, the precision requirements of automotive radar, or the extreme environment of aerospace, this series can provide reliable solutions even in a very harsh environment. Also it widely used from consumer electronics to national defense and military industry.
