Rogers RO4000 Series PCB Material(RO4350B and 4003C)

RO4350

When it comes to RO4000 PCB Material,RO4350B and RO4003C,These two hydrocarbon ceramic laminates materials are the most widely used by the high frequency PCB designer.RO4350B and RO4003C both are a series of high-frequency materials produced by Rogers Corporation. It is composed of ceramic-filled thermosetting materials and is designed for high precision circuit boards. The operating frequency can reach millimeter waves. Its low loss and high stability characteristics are widely used in microwave and millimeter wave circuit design.

What’s the benefits for using RO4000 Series of RO4350B and RO4003C?

Process compatibility: compatible with FR-4 manufacturing process and lead-free soldering process.

Stable performance: stable dielectric constant (Dk), the dielectric constant fluctuation with temperature is almost the lowest among similar materials, and the dielectric constant is also quite stable in a wide frequency range; low Z-axis CTE (thermal expansion coefficient) ensures high reliability of plated through holes. Since this coefficient is similar to copper, it can provide excellent dimensional stability, which is particularly important for multi-layer circuit board design. Even in strict thermal shock applications, the low Z-axis CTE expansion coefficient can ensure the quality of through holes in the board; and the Tg value (TG > 280) is greater than 280°C (536F) to ensure good dimensional stability during the entire board processing process.

Low loss: has the characteristics of low insertion loss. Among them, RO4000® LoPro® laminates use proprietary technology to support the inversion of copper foil to standard RO4000 series materials. The laminates formed can reduce conductor loss, improve insertion loss and signal integrity, support higher frequency design (above 40 GHz), and reduce passive intermodulation (PIM) of base station antennas.

High cost performance: The most optimized cost performance, the processing cost is lower than the traditional microwave laminate, and it can be processed using standard epoxy resin/glass (FR-4) process without the need for a special preparation process, thus reducing pcb manufacturing costs.

What are the differences for RO4350B and RO4003C in application areas?

RO4003: Suitable for cost-sensitive microwave/RF designs. Due to its compatibility with FR-4 manufacturing processes and other characteristics, it is widely used in some microwave and RF circuit designs that require cost control and good high-frequency performance.

RO4350B: Mainly used in base station power amplifier design, playing an important role in the field of communication base stations.

In conclusion,RO4000 Rogers material is a top choice for engineers and designers looking to achieve optimal performance in high-frequency circuit designs. With its exceptional electrical properties, stability, and ease of processing, RO4000 material is the go-to solution for demanding electronic applications.
